A Plus Web Hosting

February 8th, 2010 · Web design

In the early days when Internet came into being the cost of having a website was prohibitive and some of the companies chose to be only offline because of the higher cost.It was not unusual for owning the domain name to cost a couple of hundred dollars without having it available online. As days passed demand for Internet has gone up and lot of web hosting services has come into being. This has made Internet available at an affordable cost and Internet has come within financial reach of nearly everyone.

With the improvement in technology and economy of scale due to increase in demand the prices for servers have dropped considerably and hence web hosting has become affordable which in turn lead the charge of internet business. The ability to communicate with customers and provide online financial transactions through affordable web hosting made businesses see the future in online business. Today, being able to host a web site for a reasonable price has also allowed families to host personal websites at a very affordable cost.

While many free hosting companies still provide a valuable service, the use of third-party advertising turns many away from their use.

1. Free forum hosting, when added to affordable web hosting allows business and personal visitors to a site to communicate with each other and can help drive interest in the site among a wide range of users.

2. The domain name given for customers of free hosting services normally has an extension which is the name of the web hosting service; the customers feel that they lose their individual online identity due to this.

Free forum hosting in conjunction with affordable web hosting facilitates business and personal visitors to a site to communicate with each other; this helps a wide range of users to visit the site.

Keeping Business Active Helps Sustain Future

Most businesses will go through cycles during which their income levels are not consistent. The use of an affordable web hosting company can help them plan their budget and contain the cost of doing business. After signing of the agreement for affordable web hosting there won’t be any escalation in rent and utilities for the online business whereas this is not the case with traditional brick and mortar business.

Remaining available for visitors is often greatly improved by using an affordable web hosting company as opposed to some of the cheaper or even free hosting services. There are also no outside advertisements included in the agreement for affordable web hosting, allowing the site owner to have complete control over the content of the site.

Two important requirements in any website are website design and updating. Many of the affordable web hosting companies offer deep discounts for their subscribers to help them build their site and keep it fresh. This may cost a little more, but is often worth the extra money if it keeps their online presence looking clean, neat and organized.

Beginner Guide to Web Hosting

February 8th, 2010 · Uncategorized

Web hosting is an idea that is very foreign for people, especially when they are venturing into making a web site. They will hear of terms like domain names, web domain hosting, web design and graphic layout design. Shared web site hosting when you understand it is pretty easy to comprehend. In short, shared web site hosting is a place to hold your JSP files and images.

Those deciding to purchase an affordable web site hosting solution will need to understand the different features you get with shared hosting, such as hosting disk space, bandwidth, number of email accounts and types of languages supported.

Hosting disk space

Disk Space is indicative of the title, and is just like the disk space you have on your own PC. This feature lets you know the size in GB available to the site owner to host your JSP files and flash files you have for your website. Multimedia, such as images will use more of your hosting space, while your text based coded files will take up less disk space. The requirement for the disk space you should look into buying depends mainly on the type of files you are hosting, and the overall file size of your web site.

Transfer Amount

Bandwidth for web hosting is very similar to the bandwidth you use when connecting to the internet. Each time a file is viewed from your web site, it adds to your total for bandwidth used for your site. Bandwidth will generally range in plans, and you will need to pick the bandwidth usage based on how much traffic your site will get and how big your site is in file size. There will be lower bracketed offerings of bandwidth all the way up to web hosting service providers giving unlimited bandwidth and space hosting.

Hosting Server Operating System

The final topic to cover here is the different hosting server configurations available. The type of server will limit the file types, like ASP, that you will be able to host. All servers will run HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as those are handled by web browsers, like Safari. One point to highlight is Linux hosting is usually cheaper and Linux hosting with Apache supports PHP. Windows server hosting runs with IIS and is most commonly used for ASP files. free to use software like Drupal run off PHP and mySql~Windows is generally pricier due to the cost associated with purchasing the windows license for the server}.

Take all these factors into account when purchasing your next affordable web hosting package.

Is It Time For A Keyword Check-Up?

February 8th, 2010 · Uncategorized

Every person who hopes to make money with Internet Marketing knows how important keywords are. If you don’t, you can forget about being successful. Keywords are what drives visitors to our sites and allow us to make extra money. If we didn’t have keywords, there would be no income for us marketers!

Checking up on your keywords is critical in maintaining your edge as an Internet Marketer. Just because you had some keywords at one time that brought in traffic, doesn’t mean they will always be popular. It’s because of the ever changing nature of the Internet that some keywords die off while others are born and grow in popularity.

The time that any of us have to work on our websites is valuable. It would be a shame to find out that you’ve been optimizing your website for keywords that are no longer popular and fail to make money. Let’s say you had a website about gas guzzling SUV’s. Although once popular, nowadays the attention has turned to compact, fuel efficient cars. Fewer people are searching for gas hogging vehicles these days.

Another reason to continually check up on your keywords is so that you’ll be able to find new keywords as they become popular and will help you get cash faster. There are new celebrities coming into the industry all the time. The new celebs create buzz and thus generate new searches. This is a good example of new keywords showing up that you need to be aware of. By checking your keywords every month or so and getting rod of the ones not making you money and adding new ones that are hot, you’ll go a long ways in making money in this business.

Also, some niches just go away while other niches change. It just makes good business sense to cull these old, non producing keywords out of your list. Don’t waste time and energy optimizing your website for keywords that have died off and that are no longer searched for.

To be consistently profitable, you’ll need to ever watchful over your keyword list, getting rid of ones that are no longer searched for and replacing them with hot new keywords everyone is using. Hey, if someone has to pick non paying keywords, let it be your competition. You work on getting thos new, high paying keywords in your list and optimize your website for them!

Which Dedicated Server: Managed or Unmanaged?

February 8th, 2010 · Uncategorized

Web server hosting in simple terms is the process of a web server designed to operate as a server that keeps your web site files. The server loads up the files and videos to all people accessing your domain name, if set up as a web server. Different hosting plans exist, and they range from shared hosting servers to semi-dedicated and dedicated servers. Dedicated servers come in two choices: managed servers and unmanaged server hosting.

Managed Dedicated Hosting

Managed Dedicated Servers come controlled by the service providing the server. As with all virtual private servers, you are given admin access, however a managed server has the added benefit of the OS (Windows or Linux) security patches being installed onto your server. This makes sure all security patches are updated on time. The managed services will also control initial web server setup, security scans for viruses, and emergency services. If you are unfamiliar with linux servers and the methods to apply patches and troubleshoot problems like memory useage, then this choice is for you. When looking for these hosting servers, they can also also be called an assisted service plan.

Unmanaged Dedicated Server Hosting

Unlike the servers where it is all managed for you, these are completely controlled by you. If you have a problem with your web server, you will have to troubleshoot problems. Many dedicated hosting service providers do still offer support with self managed dedicated hosting. Support is required for hardware failures and other network problems within the hosting centre. After all, you are able to access the server, but you do not ever physically see the server, so you are unable to troubleshoot hardware failures.

The purchaser’s knowledge of dedicated server setup will help pick if a managed or unmanaged dedicated server solution is required. Many dedicated server hosting plans exist with various price points, but knowing if its managed dedicated server hosting or unmanaged server hosting will assist you in determining if the price warrants the service being provided to you. When buying any server, a higher price is indicative of a managed dedicated server solution.
