A Tip On Block Junk Email

December 6th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

With advancements in IT and technologies like optic fiber and docking station, our communication lines are fast easily accessed by us. What about the security of it? People do not know that they are usually responsive for the spam they get in the email. Even without a spam blocker or filter, you can block junk email by avoiding to give your email address lightly. When you give your details on a web site that requires registration, you create the premises for spam. Here are just a few examples of the situations on which you disclosed your email address: friends, white or yellow pages, business card, sign-up for software downloads, online forums, chat rooms, web pages on which you searched for information, and the list doesn’t stop here.

Besides prevention, the most common way to block junk email is to install spam filters or spam blockers to eliminate the unwanted messages from the start. Installed either on the personal computer or on the server, such programs perform a thorough check of all incoming mails, filtering, quarantining and deleting those messages that correspond to the description of unwanted mail. The tool design and features influence the speed of reaction and the efficiency to block junk email. At the moment, there is no 100% amto-spam efficiency, and the maximum you can get is 99%.

You can block junk email or reduce the amount of messages by using temporary email accounts. The idea is to use such a temporary email only once when you need to access some information that is not otherwise possible. By not disclosing your day-to-day email address, the chances of being detected by spammers are a lot lower. This is however not a reason to discard the use of an email filter, as anything can happen on the Internet in terms of email access. Thanks to a good filter or blocker that worksbetween the email program and the email server, you can detect any message that can be considered spam.

Free and paid solutions are both available for download. If you find a free tool that can block junk email and eliminate more than 90% of the unwanted messages, there is no point to buy commercial products. Test every product before buying it; consider another tool is trial versions are not available. At present the market has been flooded by hundreds of commercial softwares designed to block junk email, and it is nearly impossible not to find one to match the features of your PC as well as the specifics of the email service provider.
